 Short description:

the European Cooperation in the Field of Scientific and Technical Research, known by the acronym COST, financed the coordination of scientific research on specific topics conducted in various European countries as part of the so-called COST Actions. The main goal of the campaign was to develop harmonized indicators for assessing the acoustic insulation of apartments and then to propose an acoustic classification of apartments on a European scale.

The topic of COST Action TU0901 was closely related to the activities of the Technical Committees CEN/TC126 "Acoustic properties of construction products and buildings" and ISO/TC43/SC2 "Acoustics in construction sector", as well as with the activities of the European Acoustics Association (EAA) - Technical Committee "Room and Building Acoustics and Noise” and CIB TC 051 “Acoustics”.
